My Training

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #122513).

My training combines the intellectual quality of UCLA, the grit of twelve-step programs, the stability of mindfulness, and the embodiment of somatic practice.  UCLA refined my critical thinking and taught me method.  Twelve-step programs taught me to identify with similarities rather than differences.  Mindfulness meditation taught me the stability of concentration and the bliss of a quiet mind.  Somatic practices helped me make friends with my body and taught me embodied presence.

My clinical training integrates mentorship and supervision with intellectual curiosity and a deep trust of my intuition.  Relational somatic practices and intersubjective attunement frame my non-pathologizing approach.  And I find it helpful to listen to both the melody and the words of my clients.
